The Wildflower Project – Helping Autistic Girls to Bloom

The Wildflower Project supports girls and young women, up to the age of 25 years, who are autistic (diagnosed, on the pathway or with suspected autism).
This group provides a weekly art session for those school avoiding, home schooled or those not in education or employment, on a Tuesday morning at Bridgend Carers Centre.
We meet around once a month for a low demand gathering, where the girls can enjoy crafts and other activities. In August 2024 we held our first Wildflower Ball for all those who did not attend their school prom or did not enjoy it. We offer training and support to parents on understanding and supporting their child.
This group is ideal for girls/ young women who are, or have been, in mainstream education but struggle with social interactions/ meeting new people.

Our Wildflower Project celebrated its 5th birthday in January 2026. We are extremely proud of how this project, has grown, and feel very privileged to have been a part of so many young women’s journey of self discovery.
